For industrial environments, a crisp color temperature between 4000K and 5000K is highly recommended for your LED warehouse lighting. These temperatures provide excellent contrast, making it much easier for forklift drivers to read barcodes.
Whether you are using standard high bays or specialized vapor tight LED lights for cold storages, 5000K daylight helps reduce eye strain during long operational shifts.
The required brightness depends heavily on the specific tasks.
For general bulk storage and low-traffic areas, 100 to 150 lux is usually sufficient. However, for active loading bays, fine order-picking aisles, or detailed packaging zones, you will need 300 to 500 lux to ensure worker safety, prevent visual fatigue, and reduce reading errors on labels.
It depends on your racking structure. For open-area bulk storage, we recommend a 120° wide-angle. For narrow aisles and high racks, our custom 60° or 90° optical lenses prevent light waste and glare. Submit your dimensions, and our engineers will confirm the exact optics via a free Dialux simulation.
A widely accepted rule of thumb when installing LED high bay lights is that the spacing between fixtures should roughly match their installation height to achieve uniform lighting. For example, if your ceiling height is 20 feet (approx. 6 meters), spacing your warehouse ceiling lights 20 feet apart is a solid baseline. Keep in mind, this baseline must be fine-tuned based on your specific racking layout and the lens’s beam angle.
